What If?

The virus shows how easily democratically elected governments can take control of every aspect of our lives. They've closed down places of employment, restaurants, bars, theatre's, cinemas, libraries, parks and other recreational facilities. They've ordered us to stay home and only go out for food and medical supplies. We accept this because we agree with their reasoning, the need to halt the spread of the virus. Nevertheless, the question we should be asking is, ''What if they issued the same orders on a matter most people did not agree with?''

The Socialist Party and its companion parties in other lands are the only parties to point out that sometimes democratically elected governments can behave as dictatorially and brutal as dictatorships.

The murder of aboriginals by the governments of Britain, France and the U.S. in the 19th century are proof of that. In the final analysis there is only one solution - the establishment of socialism.
