A Canadian airline is removing life vests from all its planes to cut weight and save fuel , in other words , to save money .
Canada regulations allowed airlines to use flotation devices instead of life vests within 80km of shore . Jazz spokeswoman said it was a transcontinental airline that never flew over the ocean.
